BlendED Tasmania

BlendED National has launched in Tasmania!

BlendED National, with the support of Catholic Education Tasmania, has brought our first state program to life.

We’re welcoming enrolments from young people, parents and guardians now and anytime throughout the year.

Is BlendED right for you?

BlendED Tasmania supports young people in Years 7–10 whose access to traditional schooling has been disrupted by exclusion, anxiety, trauma or mental health challenges.

Young people do not need a formal diagnosis or referral. We welcome all young people who could benefit from a flexible relationship-first learning environment.

How the program works in Tasmania

Flexible learning

BlendED combines flexible online learning with in-person support from teachers, youth workers and allied health professionals. This allows students to re-engage with learning at a pace that feels safe and achievable.

Individual Learning Plans

Every young person has an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), co-designed with them and their parents, guardians and support network. The ILP guides academic, social and wellbeing goals.

Local staff and support

Every class at BlendED Tasmania is led by a teaching partnership – a teacher and youth worker who work side by side to support each young person’s learning and wellbeing. Our youth workers also provide outreach support, visiting young people in their homes to maintain consistent connection and care.

This dual staffing model ensures wraparound support and consistent connection between online and in-person experiences.

Local social gatherings

We offer regular, low-pressure in-person gatherings to help young people build confidence, routine and social connection. Youth workers also meet young people in the community — wherever they feel safe and comfortable.

School Registration

BlendED National is fully registered as a Special Assistance School in Tasmania.*

*Subject to regulatory requirements.
