We provide a safe, flexible and relationship-driven pathway back into learning, belonging and confidence.
BlendED National is a registered full‑time school for young people in Years 7–10, providing an alternative to traditional schooling for students with complex needs.
We provide a safe, flexible, trauma-informed learning environment where education is reimagined to meet academic, social and emotional needs.
Our mission is to help young people reconnect with learning, rebuild confidence, and find pathways to future education, training or employment.
BlendED National builds on the success of BlendED Victoria, which has supported hundreds of young people to thrive in a relationship-based, flexible learning model.
Our national rollout begins in Tasmania in 2026, with other states to follow, subject to regulatory approval.
We exist for young people who have experienced barriers such as anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, bullying or extended disengagement from school, creating flexible pathways that include returning to mainstream schooling if that’s their goal or moving on to further education, training or employment.
Behind BlendED National is a team of passionate educators, youth workers, wellbeing specialists, allied health practitioners and professional staff, working together to create safe, supportive and inspiring learning environments for young people experiencing complex barriers to education.
If you share our commitment to trauma-informed practice, relationship-based learning and radical inclusion, we invite you to view our current opportunities and explore how you can help us reimagine education at BlendED National.
At BlendED National, inclusion is lived every day. It’s embedded in how we teach, how we listen and how we build relationships. Every young person is known, valued and supported, not as an exception, but as the starting point for everything we do.
Our commitment to inclusion is guided by the EREA Charter Touchstones, which call us to create communities that are liberating, inclusive and grounded in justice and solidarity. These principles remind us that education is more than learning, it’s about belonging and agency.
We also honour and celebrate First Nations young people and communities in meaningful ways. This means embedding cultural respect and reconciliation into our curriculum, our conversations and our community life.
We work alongside First Nations voices to ensure their perspectives shape our practice, not as a symbol, but as a lived commitment to truth-telling and belonging.
Our vision is grounded in the Edmund Rice tradition, guided by the EREA Touchstones. These touchstones shape how we welcome and support every young person:
Our approach is holistic and responsive, designed to meet the needs of the whole learner.
We prioritise emotional safety and wellbeing alongside academic growth, with wraparound support from qualified teachers and wellbeing staff.
Our educators and staff use evidence-based strategies to create safe, healing environments where trust and learning can take place.
We offer pathways back to mainstream schooling if that’s the young person’s goal, or onward to further education, training or employment.
Every young person has an Individual Learning Plan tailored to their strengths, goals and circumstances.
Our community is shaped by four Operating Principles that guide every interaction. These principles create a culture of accountability, belonging and care.
We cultivate a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community where everyone feels genuinely welcomed and valued.
We prioritise wellbeing and operate in full compliance with legal and child-safety obligations.
We empower young people and families to co-design learning, support and community, always seeking new ways to improve.
We commit to open, transparent relationships built on integrity and trust.
